New Reality
New Reality
“We need tremendous energy to bring about a psychological change in ourselves as human beings, because we have lived far too long in a world of make-belief, in a world of brutality, violence, despair, anxiety. To bring about a change within oneself and therefore within society, one needs this radical energy, for the individual is not different from society. And to bring about a necessary radical, essential change in the structure of society, there must be change in the human heart and mind.” (Krishnamurti)
This change in our heart and mind is only possible when our ego self starts to submit to the guidance our our divine self through meditation and illumination. The energy required to change ourselves and to change the world does not come from our separate self, but from the universe ( some may say from God). But this process should start with the individual.
1. Meditation
We need a new type of man on earth, not the ego based one living in separation, but the True human being, wanted by God to assist Him in co-creating new life. Neither religious teaching nor traditional education system could help in this evolution. Intellectual knowledge based on association of ideas with traditional dogms and accepted norms, stored in memory, would be of limited use. A more intelligent, intuitive and direct knowledge which allows perception of Reality in the Present would be needed. Such dynamic awareness could only come through “Định Tâm”.
“Định Tâm”, which could be translated as meditation, means quietening of the mind and opening of the heart to awareness of your Higher Self and to realization of Truth of Life.
Your mind is used to rampaging like a wild horse. It generates a stream of thoughts which reflect your personal judgement, preconceived ideas and personal wants and wishes. Attachments to those constructions of the mind and to desires of your ego obscure your vision and obstruct your understanding of Truth.
Meditation introduces you to a dynamic and creative state of emptiness which allows you to be receptive to the Pure Energy of Intelligence in Action, manifesting as Enlightenment or Buddha hood.
Through meditation, the human mind is quieted. When all chattering thoughts are blanked, our Divine Consciousness manifests itself. God Within fills our entire being with His Wholeness. We become “One” with Him. This is True Intelligence which leads to full awareness. This Intelligence is pure Action.
Meditation has three phases:
1. Concentration – Định Thần
2. Illumination – Định Huệ
3. Realization – Định Ngộ
1. Concentration – Định Thần
2. Illumination – Định Huệ
3. Realization – Định Ngộ
Concentration, full Focus on the Present, on Truth, on Life is the only way to awaken and to save humanity.
A sereine and peaceful mind enables the primordial Life Force within to “Be”, to tune in with the Original Cause of all manifestations so that the root of all disturbances could be fully understood. Such mind now transcends illusory distractions from changing appearance of images and forms generated from this temporal world of senses. Those forms attracts reactive emotions emaning from low level desires. Once standing from this unique level of Reality, the Awakened Being is in the position to inspire others to walk toward full Human realization.
Once you truly forgive, you are at peace with yourselves and with others. When your mind is quiet and serene, you fully live in the Present. Living in the Present is the ultimate result of Meditation.
2. Prayers
We don’t pray to put the “whole” into the limited, to ask God or some other higher authorities to give our separated ego self special favors, like a child asking for candy. We pray to focus and connect our wandering energy to its One and only One Divine Source within our Soul. Some may call this primordial source God or Universal Life.
We are using life as a means of self-extension, as a means of self-fulfilment; and because of that, we create a society which is corrupt, which must begin to decay the very moment it comes into existence. So, an organized society has inherent in it the seed of decay. As long as society remains for you as a means of self-extension, there must be a craving for power, and it is power that creates a society of classes divided as the high and the low, the rich and the poor, the man who has and the man who has not, the literate and the illiterate, each struggling with the other, all based on acquisitiveness which gives power, position and prestige. Self-fulfillment comes through the pursuit of God, of knowledge, of money, property or position. The mind that is seeking God is not a simple mind, for its God is its own projection.
What is man relationship with society, whether it is based on greed or if one merely accepts from society such essentials as food, clothing and shelter? If your relationship is one of need and not of greed, then you will find the right means of livelihood wherever you are, even when society is corrupt.
Those whose relationship is one of need only, will create a new culture, they will be the nucleus of society in which the necessities of life are equitably distributed and are not used as a means of self-extension. There can be right means of livelihood when you look to society only for your needs – and then your relationship with society is very simple. Merely limiting yourself to a few things is not simplicity. Simplicity of the mind is essential. The simple man is he who sees exactly what is and understands it – he does not demand anything more. Such a mind is content, it sees and understands what is, and therefore acts, such a mind has few needs, it is very simple, quiet; and it is only when the mind is quiet that it can receive the eternal
On True Prayer:
Prayer is not begging somebody very powerful in the far away sky to intervene favorably in our worldly affairs to satisfy our egoistic desires. Prayer is the act of reminding ourselves of our True Origin and asking for guidance from the Original Source of Creation.
Prayer is an act of humility, of adoration where the egoistic self reverently opens itself to the guidance from the Higher Soul, which some may call God. This is an intime internal dialogue within the profound silence of our being. There is no external authority to pray to. In most religions, people mis-conceive that prayer is an attempt to control God so that God would grant special favor to their egoistic desire and greed. They even bribe God with lavish offerings, with splendid churches and temples or with suicide bombing.
In prayer, we direct our attention and energy toward the Original Source of Creation. Our mind is like a restless horse running aimlessly in various directions. But our true destination should be Home. In this state, we are “One” with the whole universe, the whole humanity.
This Reality exists at three levels which is similar to the Christian concept of Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). When praying, we remind ourselves to remember humanity Original Source of Creation and start our way Home.
The first level of Reality is our Light Within (or Holy Spirit in the Christian terminology).
The second level of Reality is the Universal Law governing the whole universe. The universe is the manifestation of this Law, although Invisible, but very Real. The universe cannot exist or will fall into complete chaos without complying with the Universal Law (Truth).
The third level of Reality is the Supreme Creator (or God the Father). Without the Creator, there is no Creation, no universe, no human being, nothing, visible or invisible.
